TOTAL PROJECT / EQUIPMENT COST (must be at least $5,000):
$4,600,000
DESCRIPTION:
The project will include the demolition of the existing pool and bath house and replacing both
structures on the existing foot print. The design would also incorporate improved parking and
handicap accessibilty to the pool area.
PURPOSE AND JUSTIFICATION:
The Parks &Recreation Dept. recently had a pool study completed CHA to determine the best
course of action to upgrade the Bolivar Pool. At teh conclusion of the report it was
recommended that based on the age of the pool and the needed code upgrades that the Town
replace the pool and bath house. The report indicated it would require roughly 4.7 million
dollars to complete the project.

The Bolivar Pool is one of the communities most used recreational facilities which serves the
entire population of the community. For many residents the Bolivar Pool provides them with
an affordable place to spend hot summer days. As the report indicated the pool operations are
at the end of life and it is unclear how much longer the Town will be able to safely operate the
pool in it's current condition.

New work van for facilities We currently have a dump truck and a utility body truck which has limited storage and stability for items that are stored within. By having a Transit van we will be able to build out shelving on the i nside to safely accommodate the numerous tools and hardware supplies that we use daily. It will also have roof racks and a 110 volt power inverter so we can use power tools or battery chargers when we are in the field away from a power source. We currently have to load and unload all items needed to perform a task daily as we have a second shift who also uses this vehicle. The time savings by having everything at our disposal will be i mmeasurable and thus allowing us more time to actually do the projects instead of constantly stocking for them and eliminate the return trips to get items that were forgotten.
