DESCRIPTION:
At the 2024 ATM, the Town appropriated $2.0 million to complete the Paul Revere Museum of
Discovery and Innovation exhibits. R&S expects that the museum will be opening in the fall
of 2025. The museum will need to hire a museum director and have associated office space.
R&S has identified two potential spaces for the Museum Director's office: a) modify a bay in
Copper Mill Hall to accommodate an office space or, b) repurpose an area in the museum
itself, though that would be inconsistent with the final museum design that is subject to the
pending RFP. Both options would require additional construction and office furnishings.
PURPOSE AND JUSTIFICATION:
Currently, the efforts to create a museum, programming and events at the Paul Revere
Heritage site have been performed by the R&S Board and its many volunteers. The R&S
Board believes that a full time Director is critical for the continued success of the museum
and has started its search for a leader that will have the experience and work ethic needed
to continue the success that the R&S Board has had in creating the museum. A full time
employee will need modest office space, furnishings and the technologies to perform
his/her duties. The following are the projected costs to create a modest office space for this
employee:
