jared high efficiency boilers with sizing engineered to maximize efficiency. The prior request for
|FY¥2026 in the amount of $350,000 was partially funded in the amount of $100,000.
| PURPOSE AND JUSTIFICATION:
} Why the department needs this item. If additional space is needed for justification, please add a second page.
|, Does this further the Town’s Green Policy? Examples: We reviewed the ‘greener’ options; however, the internal combustion engines
remain a requirement for patrol vehicles that must run for longer periods without the ability to charge. We do have hybrid vehicles in
the fleet where the role is applicable.
iThis boiler is entering the later stages of its expected service life and component failures are more
likely to occur. There is no backup heating system in the event of an equipment failure at the Fire
[Station Headquarters. Replacement with a dual boiler system provides an additional safety margin.

removed for readability. Blue shading indicates a pitch of 3/12 and greater. Gray shading indicates flat, 1/12 or 2/12 pitches. If
present, a value of "F" indicates a flat facet (no pitch).

ON9iNa } in ova h E Stina té The estimated total cost to replace a Sarnafil roof (a type of single-ply PVC membrane) and insulation on a 10,000 square foot commercial building in Massachusetts is approximately $70,000 to $150,000. This price range accounts for the membrane, insulation, tear-off, and labor, with specific costs depending heavily on project-specific factors. Cost Breakdown The overall cost per square foot for a single-ply membrane commercial roof system (like Sarnafil) typically ranges from $7 to $15 per square foot in Massachusetts. Materials (Sarnafil PVC membrane, insulation, fasteners, etc.): $4 - $8 per square foot Labor: $3 - $7 per square foot (or higher, depending on complexity) Tear-off and Disposal (of existing roof layers): $1 - $3 per square foot Additional Costs (permits, structural repairs, accessibility, etc.): Varies by project For a 10,000 sq. ft. building, the total estimated cost can be itemized as follows: Materials, Labor, and Tear-off: $50,000 to $1 50,000 Contingencies (Deck repairs, etc.): This is a significant variable cost that can only be determined after a professional inspection. Key Factors Affecting the Cost Insulation Type and Thickness: The type and R-value (thermal resistance) of the insulation used is a key cost driver, and building energy codes often mandate a minimum R-value. Roof Condition and Tear-off: If the existing roof is damaged, especially the underlying deck, repairs will add significantly to the cost. Massachusetts building codes may also require a full tear-off if there are already multiple layers. Roof Complexity and Accessibility: A simple, flat, open roof is cheaper to replace than a complex one with many penetrations (HVAC units, skylights, vents) or limited access, which requires more specialized labor and equipment. Labor Rates: Labor costs in Massachusetts are a significant portion of the total project expense, influenced by high insurance costs and the complexity of the job.

The total cost to replace parapet wall flashing and caps for a 10,000 square foot commercial building generally ranges from approximately $12,000 to $50,000, with costs primarily based on the total linear footage of the parapet wall and the materials used. The building's square footage is less relevant than the perimeter (linear footage) of the parapet walls. Cost Breakdown Costs are calculated per linear foot (lin. ft.) for materials and labor. Item Cost Per Linear Foot (Installed) Total Estimated Range Flashing $8 - $32 per lin. ft. Coping Caps $10 - $70 per lin. ft. Total Combined ~$18 - $102+ per lin. ft. ~$1 2,000 - $50,000 ; 4 Average Perimeter: Assuming a 10,000 sq. ft. square building (approx. 100 ft. x 100 ft.), the perimeter is 400 linear feet. +400 PocPouND + Fo er HGH . . . STEM UF Total Estimated Cost (for 400 lin. ft.): (400 lin. ft. * $18/lin. ft.) to (400 lin. ft. * $102+Ain. ft.). Key Cost Factors Material Type: The primary cost driver. Aluminum flashing is a cost-effective option ($8—$15/lin. ft. installed), while galvanized steel is a bit more ($10-$20/lin. ft.). Concrete coping caps are generally the most affordable caps ($10—$30/lin. ft), whereas custom metal or stone can be more expensive ($20-$70/lin. ft.). Labor: Labor typically accounts for 40-50% of the total cost and can range from $50— $100 per hour, depending on expertise and region. Accessibility: Projects on multi-story buildings may require scaffolding or lifts, increasing labor costs by 15-30%. GureD Bais / Pitot Pans Zook DRAIN peeY¥ > VENT DETAILS FOR 7 LT2S
