Issuing Electronic Citations (e-citations) will be the primary mode of issuing a
Citations citation with the paper citations as the back-up.
Books
82.3.3 Traffic paper citations are received from the Registry of Motor
Vehicles. Paper Citations are stored in the Dispatch Room. They
are only to be used as a back-up to the E-citations (ex. The State’s
automated site is inaccessible). A receipt citation log is to be filled
out by the Officer when a citation book has been issued. The log will
contain the citation book number (beginning and ending), Officer’s
name, signature, and date of issue. The Records Division will
maintain a record indicating to whom each citation book is issued.
