The purchase of 47 Turtle Brook Rd. for the purpose of preserving its affordable housing restriction,
and reselling to an eligible buyer.
• Lisa Lopez (Chair of Housing Trust) called the meeting of the Housing Trust to order.
• Charlie Aspinwall recommended that the Select Board first approve the in -lieu of borrowing for
the unit, so the Trust doesn't need to seek outside financing.
• Charlie Aspinwall recommended that the Trust first make a uniqueness determination for the
unit, so the property can be purchased without an RFP. 47 Turtle Brook is the only unit eligible
to be purchased in order to be preserved on the subsidized housing inventory.
• Tom Theodore (Select Board) moved and Chris Connolly seconded approving the in -lieu of
borrowing report. No further discussion. Passed 5.0.0.
• Lisa Lopez (Housing Trust) made a motion that the Trustees decide that the acquisition of the
unit is unique for the purpose of waiving advertising requirements. Seconded by Mike Loughran.
No further discussion. Passed 5-0-0.
• Tom Theodore (Select Board) asked for clarification about the purpose of the motions.
• Lisa Lopez (Housing Trust) explained that the first motion was to allow for the Trust to get the
financing for the housing unit from the Town, rather than an outside bank. The second motion
was to allow the Trust to purchase the unit without first using an RFP and advertising it.
Because the property is so unique due to its affordable housing restriction, that the Town is
only interested in purchasing this property at 47 Turtle Brook.
