TOWN OF CANTON PLANNING BOARD MINUTES WEDNESDAY, April 19, 2023 6:30 P.M. Virtual ZOOM Meeting Present: Patricia McDermott, Chair David McCarthy, Vice Chair Kathy McCormack, Clerk Jim Quigley, Member Joseph Amrhein, Member Also Present: Thomas Houston, Professional Services Corporation Karen Lawlor, Administrative Assistant Chair McDermott called to order the Planning Board Meeting of April 19, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. A motion was made by Chair McDermott and seconded Ms. McCormack to open the public meeting of April 19, 2023. Roll Call Taken, All in Favor, Motion Approved 4-0. Chair McDermott welcomed everyone to the Planning Board meeting. A motion was made Mr. McCarthy and seconded by Ms. McCormack to open Item #1, 24 Elm Street. Roll Call Taken, All in favor, Motion Approved 4-0. First Item on the Agenda (t) 24 ELM STREET (Scenic WayZ—Removing a section of historic rock wall in order to move driveway to improve visibility and safety when pulling out onto Elm Street on a Scenic Way (Alison McManus, owner) Ms. McManus explained that she would like to move the driveway, since it is at an odd angle and removing a tree. She will remove a portion of the wall to make the driveway cut, and then rebuild the wall. Chair McDermott stated that she spoke with Engineering and had them review this. She will forward the Engineering Form to Ms. McManus which deals with safety concerns and what is required. A motion was made Mr. Amrhein and seconded by Ms. McCormack to Approve and Allow the modification of the wall and the removal of the tree at 24 Elm Street. Roll Call Taken, All in favor, Motion Approved 5-0. A motion was made Mr. Amrhein and seconded by Mr. Quigley to open Item #2, 548 Washington Street (Sign).
