Request to Attend Earth Day Celebration – April 24, 2022: Christine Smith asked for volunteers to table at the Earth Day Celebration being conducted by Mass Audubon at the Museum of Bird Art. Unfortunately, many members will be away that day and we don’t have the people power to participate in this event. Paul Revere Heritage Site – Canton Heritage Festival – May 14: Christine Smith has signed the committee up to have a table at the event. Both she and Katy said that they can be there for all or part of the day. More details will be hammered out at our May meeting. Textile Recycling– Discussion of Additional Locations – Patti McDermott has been in contact with the Senior Center about putting a second textile recycling bin in their parking lot. They are still considering the idea, but appear to be open to a 6 month trial period. Patti will follow up. TerracycleDiscussion – There was a discussion about which bins would work best for us, but also some confusion as to which bins were part of the free options offered by Terracycle to cities and towns. Andrea Stuart volunteered to reach out to the company and the committee will discuss this at a future meeting. Energy Aggregation Process – Christine Smith reported that the process is moving forward with the selection of a broker underway (a decision expected by the end of the month). The broker will help shepherd Canton through the entire process. Clean Up Day in Canton – Jeff Sullivan joined the meeting to give an update on his Keep Canton Beautiful initiative that will be taking place on April 30. Lots going on in Canton on that day, but he’s signed up 265 volunteers so far, and expects close to 400 by the time registration closes on April 22nd. Jeff said that his biggest need now is volunteers to act as site leaders on the day and he asked us to help spread the word. Meeting adjourned at 8:32p.
