Committee has reserved a spot for the event 7:25 pmTerracycle City of Salem has Terracycle bins in Town Hall – something we could pursue in the future – likely free for the town Katy to reach out to the Salem Sus. Coordinator to learn m ore about the programBrands often fund boxes at larger collection sites 7:40 pmTextile Recycling DiscussionOver the last calendar year – approx.. $300 collected for the Town Potential to setup a revolving fund so the funds are used for sustainability activities - Stephen willing to work with Charlie on developing a fund – may just require a Board of Selectman voteChristine requested $3k for the Sus. Committee annual budgetStephen willing to work with Charlie or othersOpportunities to better understand Pine Street recycling: cardboard, metal, electronics 8:00 pm2022 Goals Discussion/Updates: RDP Grant for 2022 DEP grant requirements are changing – no longer a minimum number of points Kathi from DEP no longer our Coordinator (new position) Submission of the Annual Recycling & Solid Waste Survey, Annual RDP Spending Report and Notification of Buy Recycled Policy with Buy Recycled Policy attached by February 15th - Stephen to work with Josh on completed survey and fill out worksheet Media - Communications Social Media: Small Steps for taking actions –“Nothin Drastic- Less Plastic” (Erin) Continue to send Erin good content/stories Katy writing articles in Citizen – will be posted based on availability Electronics recycling – partnering with Robotics Club 8:15 pmItems not anticipated by the Chair Black Earth interested in Town for composting List of suggestions from interested citizen via Sustianbility Comm gmail account School Recycling – started to ask the questions Push from a student engagement – everything going into Lots of student interest Contractual aspects need to be addressed Going to cost money but we need to sell to the town leaders that its important Adjourned at 8:05
