Also present: Charles J. Aspinwall, Town Administrator, Laurie Bogue, Administrative Secretary
Meeting called to order at: 5:32 PM.
Selectmen John Connolly asked for a moment of silence for Harold Weinstein, father of Karen Lawlor
from Planning Board and and Barbara Tetrault, Crossing Guard.
Discussion of insurance renewals-medical and dental
It was noted before the discussion, that Chairman Chris Connolly, Selectmen Theodore and Selectmen
Loughran all receive the Town insurance, so they are not able to comment. Jody Middleton, Human
Resource Director, appeared before the Board to note that they are coming up for annual renewals and
this is the time to negotiate any changes to make to the plan. It was noted that we cannot go above the
Group Insurance Commission limits, where our plan design is similar. Ms. Middleton noted that she met
with the Broker and a Representative from Blue Cross. Dental does not need to be negotiated. Mr.
Porter asked about high deductible plans to be offered in the future. Selectmen 1. Connolly wanted to
make sure we are doing the best for the employees for the Town of Canton. Ms. Middleton, suggested
leaving the plan as is for FY21 and she noted the next steps will be to work on the rates for July and she
noted May 7 will be Health Fair. Due to continuing with the current arrangement, no vote is necessary.
