Authorization by Board of Selectmen for Treasurer to borrow funds.
lames Murgia, Finance Director came before the board to discuss a request to borrow funds. These new
bonds, to be repaid over twenty years, consists of $4.3 Million for capital projects and $4.7 Million to
refinance bonds original issued in 2011. By taking advantage of the recent state law changes regarding
bond premiums, we used $715,000 of additional bond premium received to reduce the amount of these
bonds from $9 million to $8.3 million. The bonds cover nine capital projects, and refinancing the bonds
originally issued in 2011, will save approximately 390,000 in debt service costs over the next twelve
years. Bank of New York Mellon was determined the lowest bidder at 2.16%.
