Stormwater Runoff-7 Fencourt Road
Barbara Reardon, the Town Engineer appeared before the Board to discuss the runoff issue at 7
Fencourt Road. Ms. Reardon found records back to 2006 claiming that abutters have had issues
regarding ice build up on the street because of the water discharge from that property. Ms. Reardon
noted this is a matter of public safety. In 2009 the previous Town Engineer met with the resident and
requested they pull the pipe back onto their property. The homeowners complied with the Engineers
request. The problem is still evident in 2019. Ms. Reardon mailed two cease and desist letters. The
resident, George Seabrook gave a detailed account of the issue of his property. Mr. Seabrook claims he
did what the previous Town Engineer asked and now many years later, the problem has surfaced again.
Mr. Seabrook is requesting the Town to enter into a compromise to fix the issue, because of the cost.
Chairman Porter noted that the resident should get some quotes to fix the issue. Chairman Porter noted
that as long as the conversation is ongoing, then no action by the Town will be taken. This matter will be
continued.
