First Item on the Agenda - 468 & 474 NEPONSET STREET — Definitive Sub -division
Plan ("Conuerwood Subdivision") — (Donald & Theresa Hagerty) —
Gregory Driscoll, P.E., Jacobs Driscoll Engineering, North Easton, MA; and Attorney Matt Watsky
introduced themselves.
An email from Assistant Town Engineer, Lisa Grega, dated March 7, 2o18, was read into the record:
"Hi Greg, Barbara Thissell and I discussed the plans to install individual pumps at each home in
Copperwood Subdivision as shown in the most recent plans dated 3/2 2oi8. The Engineering
Division is in favor of this scenario and would like to make one sugges-tion. The connection of the
forced main to the gravity manhole atNeponset Street would be better received if the 4 inch pipe
entered the manhole with an outside drop. In other words, Engineering recommends approval of
the plans on the condition that the drop manhole scenario is added. Attached is our detail for a drop
manhole. Best Regard."
Tom Houston explained that the design E1 system is a decent system. They will put the forced main
outside, 4' to 5' from the face of the wall which is a narrow space. He has seen individual forced mains
which is a problem in cold weather. The issue is standby power for a prolonged power outage.
Mariella Estates has grinder pumps in their stormwater system and a simple solution is a portable
generator.
The Applicant presented information regarding the generator. They were looking at a Simplex Sentry,
24oV 6oHz. with generator receptacle sold by E One Sewer Systems.
