Also Present: Charles J. Aspinwall, Town Administrator and Jennifer Kemalian, Administrative Secretary
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m.
A moment of silence was held for Canton resident Attorney Maura Sullivan. It was noted that she would
be remembered for her service to the Town and for interviewing the candidates for election on Canton
Cable Access.
The meeting began with an advertised Public Hearing regarding the parking restriction on Walpole
Terrace
Motion was made to open the public hearing to discuss the parking restriction on Walpole Terrace.
Motion: Mr. Feeney Second: Mr. Del Vecchio Vote: 5-0
Chairman Burr provided a brief background on the matter. He noted that approximately six months
prior, the Board had established a no parking zone across from Canton Power and Equipment on
Walpole Terrace for safety reasons. The Board had agreed to revisit the matter to see if it had an
adverse effect on the business. Mr. Burr noted that the business owners were present and wished to
have the parking restriction lifted.
Ms. Caitlyn Ferriera, part owner of Canton Power Equipment addressed the Board. She provided the
Board with copies of reports that show a revenue loss for her business in 2016. She claimed that Canton
Power Equipment lost the revenue as a direct result of the parking restriction.
The Board asked Ms. Ferriera about changes that the business has made to make more room to parkas
opposed to parking on the street. She answered affirmatively that the changes were made. She noted
that she would like to see a sixty minute parking zone for loading and unloading of equipment.
