Acting Chairman Thomas Scully called to order the Planning Board meeting of
May 17, 2017 at 7. 00 p.m.
A motion was made by Mr. Mitcheroney and seconded by Ms. McDermott to open the public
meeting. Motion approved -3-0.
First Item on the Agenda — Reorganization of the Board. This will be tabled until
the next meeting when we have a full Board.
Next Item on the Agenda — 28 ELM STREET (Laura Gillespie) - Informal
Hearing regarding Columns at the end of a driveway on a Scenic Way
Laura Gillespie wanted to thank the Board for seeing her for this informal hearing. She lives
at 28 Elm Street and is a longtime Canton Resident. There are two (2) columns at the end of
her driveway which are twelve (12) feet apart. This creates a very narrow opening to the
driveway and makes it very challenging to pull in and out of the driveway. The would like to
move one (1) column in order to make the driveway opening wider to approximately
eighteen (18) feet wide. The tree warden has been out to look at the trees and the stonewall
and has no problem with this. The stonewall is not being touched, but will fix and reuse any
stones that become dislodged or moved. They had someone come out to look at the
columns and they can be easy removed and relocated.
The Board suggested talking to DPW if the Applicant had not already done so, and go
forward with this project with the Board's blessing.
Next Item on the Agenda - 85 DAN ROAD (Organogenesis Warehouse) — Site
Plan Review for a loading dock addition to an existing office building located in
the LI District (Pare Corporation, 8 Blackstone Valley Place, Lincoln, RI 02865)
