TOWN OF CANTON PLANNING BOARD MEETING WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 2017 CANTON PUBLIC LIBRARY Trustee's Meeting Room e 2nd Floor 786 Washington Street Canton, Massachusetts 6:30 P.M. MINUTES Present: Thomas Scully, Acting Chairman Michael Mitcheroney, Clerk Robert Panico David McCarthy Patricia McDermott Also Present: Thomas Houston, Professional Services Corporation Laura Smead, Town Planner Daren Lawlor, Administrative Assistant Acting Chairman 'Phomas Scully called to order the Planning Board meeting of April 5, 201'7 at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Scully wanted to welcome two (2) new members to the Board, David McCarthy for the three (3) year term, and Patricia McDermott for the one (1) year term. First Item on the Agenda - Discussion of Reorganization. The Board decided to reorganize after Town Meeting. Next Item on the Agenda - Rules, Regulations, and Resources. Mr. Houston is going through the final review and checklist. Ms. Smead explained that she has created a chec1dist for plans that are submitted and she will email it to the Board. Further, she is going on maternity leave in July and a part-time intern for approximately ioo hours, will be hired. The job will be posted shortly. Other updates and Discussions: Master Plan update — FinCom voted to support this and it needs to get accepted at Town Meeting. Open Space and Recreation Plan update — This is funded though the Community Compact and CPC — This is Cindy O'Connell's project. Hazard Mitigate Plan updated — This is currently ongoing and worldng with GCG Associates, Inc. Earl Newhouse Waterfront Plan — They will be requesting CPC funds and a consultant in September will be determined.
