~ ~~~t ~ ,:.,Y1,` Board of Selectmen Minutes January 31, 2017 Memorial Hall, 801 Washington Street, Canton, MA Salah Meeting Room 7:00 p.m. Present: Chairman Robert E. Burr, Jr. ~ Vice Chairman Mark J. Porter ~ Clerk Kevin T. Feeney ~ John J. Connolly ~ Victor D. Del Vecchio Also Present: Charles J. Aspinwall, Town Administrator and Jennifer Kemalian, Administrative Secretary The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. The Board welcomed Team Rise, the Senior Division Community Problem Solvers to give their presentation. Team Rise is comprised of 9th and 10th grade Canton High School students. They presented their project on refugees and how to welcome and help them assimilate to the American culture. The Board thanked them for their presentation. Motion was made to reopen the hearing for the application for alteration of premises for Ponkapoag Civic Association Inc., 17 Greenbriar Road. Motion: Mr. Feeney Second: Mr. Del Vecchio Vote: 5-0 It was noted that there was a request from Jennifer Gianacopoulous, Ponkapoag Civic Association, that the hearing be continued to the March 7th meeting. Motion was made to continue the hearing to the March 7, 2017 Board of Selectmen meeting. Motion: Mr. Feeney Second: Mr. Del Vecchio Vote: 5-0 The Planning Board and Board of Selectmen held a joint meeting to appoint an interim member to the Planning Board to fill a vacancy until the annual Town Election. Planning Board members Jeremy Comeau, Bob Panico, and Rob Mitcheroney were present. It was recommended that Bob Macdonald be appointed as interim Planning Board member until the election. The Planning Board voted 3-0 in favor.
