Canton Walk, Bike & Hike Committee Meeting Notes Thursday, 8/11/2016 @ 7:30PM @ Canton Public Library Welcome, introductions, attendees: Rich Allen, Phil Barrows, Mike Mitcheroney, Debby Stein Sharpe, Laura Smead (Town Planner), Julie Moffatt, Kristen Phelps (CCPC), John Mahoney Introduction: Kristen Phelps of CCPC Discussion: Forge Pond trail update, who owns the land around Forge Pond, easement, etc. Airport Park Conservation land off Wardwell east towards ICC and south to Stoughton Discussion: Laura’s draft of A Complete Streets project proposal for Town roadways, sidewalks and crossings Laura’s experience working with Tufts University’s field projects Tying in language from the Master Plan Complete Streets training Deliver a simple proposal by November Timeline approximately one year Discussion: Debby briefs us on status for Skyline Trail crosswalk Discussion: Kristen briefs the Committee on the CPC application process Examples of eligible and ineligible CPC projects Draft application due 9/30/16 More complete application due 5 weeks later Reference Needham’s costs and results, http://www.needhamma.gov/DocumentCenter/Home/View/2835 Action – Rich to collect estimates from Beals & Thomas, etc. Letters of support from BOS, Town Planner, Concom, Rec Dept., etc. Keeping Town Boards in the loop on details and progress Calendar – next meeting set for 7:30pm Thursday 9/15/16, Phil to book
