Board of Selectmen
August 11, 2015

Present: Present: Robert E. BurrJr., Vice-Chairman, Kevin T. Feeney, Clerk Victor D. Del Vecchio,
Member, Mark J. Porter, Member, William T. Friel, Town Administrator, Jennifer Bright, Administrative
Secretary.
Meeting was called to order at 8:30 p.m.
Also present was Jody Middleton, Human Resources Director.
Mr. Friel, Town Administrator, presented the Board with the final Police Association Memorandum of
Agreement for Fy16-18. He noted that Town Counsel had reviewed and approved this agreement. He
noted that favorable action was being recommended.
The Board discussed the contract provisions estimated cost sheet associated with the revised contract.
Motion was made to approve the Memorandum of Agreement between the Canton Police Union and
the Town of Canton for FY16-18.
Motion: Mr. Feeney Second: Mr. Del Vecchio Vote: 4-0
There was a discussion concerning a matter of Mr. John Noone, 18 Maplecroft Road. Mr. Noone had a
claim into the Town of Canton for monetary reimbursement for alleged water infiltration and related
damage. Mr. Friel noted the claim was hard to prove that this matter was the Town's responsibility;
however he noted it may be prudent to approve the reimbursement to avoid legal cost involved in a law
suit.
Motion was made to approve the reimbursement to Mr. John Noone of 18 Maplecroft Road in the
amount of $13,250.00 subject to the execution of a waiver of liability and release of all claims. This
amount reflects a small portion of potential claim costs.

Motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 p.m.
