She had been in touch with a company (the Collins Institute) to do the review and was providing them with the scope in order to get a price quote. She noted that an RFP was not required. Ms. Middleton explained that she would be engaging the Department Heads and staff holding the positions, to be part of this process as well. She noted that the study should be done by the end of the year. The Board thanked her. Ms. Middleton and the Board discussed the matter of the Assessing Technician job. The Assessor's office wished to upgrade this position. Ms. Middleton felt that it should wait until after the town wide compensation study had been completed. The Board discussed the matter. They agreed to upgrade the position to a grade 12 step 6, which is higher than the current grade, but not as high as what the Assessor's office was requesting. If the job needs to be upgraded further it will be done after the compensation study should the study support that. Motion was made to upgrade the Assessing Tech position to a grade 12 step 6.
