The Committee reviewed the Treasurer's report for the end of Fiscal Year 2015. A copy of the

Project Updates
FY 201 S Projects
Canton Corner Cemetery - A second round of gravestones were cleaned and repaired over the
past year. The Historical Commission is working with the vendor to prioritize gravestones to be
repaired with the remaining funds for this project (approximately $4,800.00).
Tennis Courts - Project ran into construction delays but is nearly complete.
FY2016 Projects
Veterans Housing Fire Alarms & Electrical Boxes - Contract has been awarded. Work has com-
menced and is expected to be completed this fall. Project cost will be well below the amount
approved as bids came in lower than expected.
FPUU Steeple Restoration - Town Counsel and the attorney representing the First Parish Church
have been negotiating terms of the required Historic Preservation Restriction. The FPUCJ would

like to limit the restriction to just the steeple and spire; the Town wants the restriction to cover
the building as well. The project can not move forward until the Restriction has been negotiated
and executed.
Historic Documents Master Plan - Bids have been submitted and contract awarded. Project is
expected to cost approximately $7,200.00 and will commence in early October.
Tilden House Restoration - 5 bids to develop construction specifications were submitted. Con-
tract was awarded and kick-off meeting will be held in late September. Following completion of
specs, bid documents for construction will be prepared. Project should go to bid in spring of
2016. Restoration work is expected to take twelve to sixteen weeks.
Firefighters Memorial Bell - The Fire Department received quotes for restoration work from sev-
eral vendors. Work on the bell is expected to begin in the spring of 2016,
Paul Revere Heritage Site - Updates
The BOS established the Paul Revere Heritage Site Commission and the affiliated Building Use
and Open Space Committees this past summer. The Commission met three times over the past
several months. G. Comeau - CCPC representative to the Heritage Site Commission - reported
that the U.S. Navy intends to donate a bell cast in 1885 by a Paul Revere apprentice (Hooper) for
display in the renovated Rolling Mill. The Commission is also pursuing the donation of a Paul
Revere cannon from Gettysburg.
K. Alfano - CCPC representative to the Building Use Committee - shared preliminary plans for
the Rolling Mill and barn. The Committee met throughout the summer with the architect and the
plans reflect the Committee's preference for an open concept in both structures.
Deb Sundin (CCPC Treasurer) requested that the Committee take a formal vote to designate a
start date for appropriating CPA funds for the bonded purchase of the Paul Revere Heritage Site.
The Town will not take ownership of the land until it has been remediated and landscaped in ac-
cordance with the development agreement; however, the CCPC can initiate the annual set-aside
prior to the purchase date. According to the ten-year bond scheduled provided by the Finance
Department, the year one set-aside should be $234,900.
Motion to begin allocating funds to the Paul Revere Heritage Site project in FY 2016 with
year one total of $234,900 by John McSweeney, seconded by Kathy Fox Alfano, approved 5-
0-0.
Community Preservation Plan Update - Discussion
G. Comeau noted that the Community Preservation Plan needed to be updated in 2016. As a
starting point for the next update, the Committee agreed that relevant sections of the existing
plan should be forwarded to Town Boards and Committees who have provided feedback in the
past along with a request for input on changes/priorities they would like to see in the 2016 plan.

further discussion. Lastly, a public hearing will be held to highlight the projects funded to date
and to solicit input from Town residents.

5-0-0.
