PUBLIC HEARINGS Gary Miller 75 Oxbow Rd RDA Presented by Gary Miller, Mr. Miller submitted a plan showing locations of existing trees to be removed, Mr. Miller explained the following: • Removal of seven trees within in the 30’ foot No Build Zone. • Trees close to the house and deck sway during mild wind and concerned that trees will fall on house. • Large pines trees are top heavy, many large branches have broken off. Chairman Sundin explained that ConCom does not allow work in the thirty-foot No Build Zone, but does not want the trees to fall onto the house or deck. Agent O’Connell- no issues with the Sassafras tree, does have concerns about removal of large pine trees. Six large pines are grouped together; three/four pine trees provide shade to the existing deck. Agent recommends all six trees be removed or the Commission not allow trees to be removed (all or nothing). Chairman Sundin – recommends tree stumps be ground down, and asked Mr. Miller what types of trees would be planted in place of the removed trees. Ed Jastrem – Has a certified arborist determined if any of the trees are diseased or rotted? Commissioner Jastrem would allow trees to be removed if there is a safety issue, Mr. Jastrem requesting appropriate trees to be planted.
