Nicholas Pirelli, Assistant Director at the Canton Recreation Department, requests to place
banners for the upcoming carnival at John F. Kennedy school at 100 Dedham Street. Mr.
Pirelli states he would like to place 60 "x36" banners at 6 locations; Parks & Recreation
Office, Devoll Park, Art Center on Washington Street, Decembrele Park off Tilden Road,
Aquatics Center on Bolivar Street, and Davis Park off Sutcliffe Avenue. Mr. Pirelli states
they would be up from June 26, 2015 to July 12, 2015. Chairman Carroll states the
locations are all in residential locations. Mr. Pando states the purpose of the library sign
was for public announcements so there wouldn't be signs all over town. Mr. Pando states
he doesn't like all the locations and the signs look cheap and has Canton Parks &
Recreation is smaller letters so you don't know who is advertising the carnival. Mr. Marini
concurs with Mr. Pando. Mr. Pirelli states he would like to use the smaller signs in front of
the John F. Kennedy school.
Chairman Carroll asks Mr. Pirelli if he has had a chance to speak to the Superintendent of
Schools to use the frame in front of Canton High School that advertises school events. Mr.
Pirelli states he has not heard back yet. Chairman Carroll tells Mr. Pirelli to speak to the
Library about using their sign.
Mr. Marini states he doesn't want to see (8) 5'x3' signs. Mr. Pando states he would give
him 2 not in residential areas.
Mr. Pirelli asks if he could have 3 signs in the high profile areas of town; Aquatics Center,
Art Center, and Devoll Field. Mr. Pirelli also asks if he can use the smaller sign in the 3
other locations. Mr. Pando says no.
