One resume was received that might be a potential candidate. The CCPC awaits additional applicants. Once we have additional qualified applicants, Kathy Fox Alfano, George Comeau, and Lisa Lopez will meet with candidates. Complete plan to finalize and distribute Community Preservation Plan The plan has been completed, and the CCPC is pleased with the results. The expectations have been exceeded with this plan. As a foundation, this plan is a wonderful tool to help guide our processes moving forward. A discussion ensued relative to the goals and lessons for moving forward. The sense was that each of the content subject experts on the CCPC could review their area and provide 2-3 goals that will become part of the guidance for the committee moving forward. Goals will be developed and presented at a near future meeting. Project presentations A brief discussion relative to a scoring framework and a scoring sheet was distributed in draft form. war memorial, in Mr. Andreotti’s opinion, needs to be protected and be part of the history of Canton. The late 19th century zinc statue was originally donated to Canton by Elijah Morse and was broken by vandals in the mid 1970’s. Mr. Bishop described the process by which the statue would be restored professionally. The timeline for this project is 3-4 months. The question as to additional sources of revenue for the project was discussed briefly, and Mr. Andreotti said some monies might be available from the Veteran’s Fund. The range for this project was developed to allow for contingencies. Project: High School Tennis Courts CPA Category: Open Space/Recreation Project Proponent: School Committee & Board of Selectmen Amount Requested: $260,000.00 The project proponents were Steven Doody, John Connolly, Cindy Thomas, and Jeff Granatino. Ms. Thomas led the presentation and explained that the capital projects commitment from the Town of Canton has made funding this project difficult. The large and significant use of the tennis courts on behalf of not only the School Department, but also the community at large makes this an important project for consideration. Mr. Granatino presented an in-depth and comprehensive review of the project and made a case for funding. Installed in 1987, the courts are in difficult condition and each year they continue to deteriorate. This would be a two-month project managed by the Building Renovation Committee. New Business The Town Meeting schedule December 26th – January 10th for submission of article for ATM. Motion: to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 pm by Jeremy Comeau and seconded by John McSweeney.
