Council on Aging (COA) - FYI Budget Requests — (handout) Senior Center Update - Diane Tynan,
Council on Aging Director, gave an update regarding the Senior Center project. A contract with the
lowest bidder, BWC Contracting Inc., had not been signed yet, but is scheduled to be signed the first
week in March. The estimated completion date for the project is October 2014.
Clerical Salary Increase - Ms. Tynan is looking for a $14,000 increase to the Clerical Salary budget line
item. This increase would be to transfer responsibilities for the scheduling of transportation from the
Recreation Department to the Council on Aging. These transportation services were started 33 years ago
with no staffing at the time. According to Ms. Tynan, last fiscal year the Council on Aging provided 7,400
trips or 616 per month or 155 phones calls per week. The clerical staff would be increased by 10 hours
from 19.5 to 29.5 hours per week and would be a non -union position.

assistance with completion of Community Preservation Act (CPA) abatement paperwork, workshops,
newsletters (handout) etc.
