Change in use, from Dog Grooming business to coffee /juice shop (no kitchen). The
petitioner appeared before the Board with her daughter, Ruta, who "speaks better
English ". Ms. Mikelenas stated there would be fresh juices, shakes, smoothies, gourmet
coffee, for take out or to just sit around, have meetings. Chairman Carroll asked if you
had beer and wine license at Amber Road Caf6 (YES). They are not extending to the
other unit, just waiting for their food. Mrs. Mikeleniene said this is across the hall from
Amber Road Caf6. Canton needs a place for moms that is fresh, organic. Chairman
Carroll asked if the Dog Company was gone? (YES) Mr. Marini asked if these
unitswere not together (NO, ACROSS THE HALL). Chairman Carroll said it is not a
new restaurant. Mr. Marini asked if there was food (NO, JUST DRINKS). Mrs.
Mikeleniene said it is an opportunity to have a cappuccino. Mr. Marini asked if they can
get food at Amber Road and go to the juice shop? Mrs. Mikeleniene said yes, but it is a
different business, it is a cafe. Mr. Marini asked: How big is the unit? (1000s.f.). How big
is Amber Road Caf6 (2400s.f.). Mr. Pando said this is a nice problem to have, it is one of
the few downtown businesses that has its own parking. The parking associated with the
dog grooming business is adequate for the new business. It is an excellent idea. What are
your hours? 7 days? 8AM to l OPM? (YES). We will reserve the right to modify. Mr.
Marini asked if we continued the hours for Amber Road Caf6 to IAM? (YES, but I
cannot do that anymore). Mr. Pando said we are not changing Amber Road Caf6 hours,
(this is a different business). Chairman Carroll asked if they can go to the juice shop and
not use Amber Road Caf6? (YES). Mr. Pando made a motion for Remy Mikelenas,
Kristina Mikeleniene /Anne King at 635 Washington St to grant a Special Permit to open
a fast food juice bar, 7 days a week from 8:00am to 10:00pm. The Board reserves the
right to amend this decision. Voted 3 -0 to approve.
