VOTE: 7-0-0 Other Business With respect to the position of the part-time administrative assistant, the Chairman spoke with the Human Resources Department and found that this position is subject to the collective bargaining rules. The thought that we need a person with special qualifications that include high-tech skills and are savvy in social media and presentation skills was presented for discussion. These skills are needed in addition to classic “administrative support” roles. The CCPC discussed the skillsets needed to serve the committee going forward. Technical skills will be key as well as actually serving as an “administrator” for the committee. The Committee supported the concept of an expanded role for this position and the Chairman will pursue accordingly. The CCPC has received several pre-applications and discussed the manner in which these documents are handled. They are signed, dated, and a cursory review is completed to ensure that they meet the basic tenets of the CPA. Once reviewed, the applicants are given direction to move forward with a full application (or in cases that do not meet the CPA provisions they are told so) and the full CCPC is notified of the review. The CCPC felt that once reviewed, all projects are not ranked until all final reviews are done so as to rank and prioritize eligible projects in preparation for recommendation to Annual Town Meeting. The CCPC also discussed the way in which projects are vetted and criteria for review for projects that are submitted for decisions. It is expected that by December we will have scoring sheets and subjective criteria for project weighting. The abatement process was discussed with regards to the process by which citizens over 65 are eligible for abatements. The Chairman plans to conduct a few info sessions to assist eligible seniors with the process of completing the form. The FinCom appointed Sepp Bergshnider as liaison to the CCPC. – Page 2 of 3 minutes_100313_final.docx
