Petitioner to construct addition to 2 story bldg with new parking. Chris Keenan
(Engineer) and Dr. Lakis, owner, appeared before the Board. They have issues still not
nd
completed with the Planning Board. They hope to be done by next week (March 2).
The existing building is a non-conforming structure, so they do not need a Special Permit
per Ed Walsh, the Building Commissioner. There is a small portion on rear of the
building that has no foundation, so they are adding to a non-conforming building. They
would like to include a lift, possibly 30 s.f. Both Building Commissioner and Planning
Board suggest Architectural Access Board (AAB) for the lift. Mr. Feeney said it is hard
to get a variance for an outside lift. Mr. Feeney said it is a “vertical lift”, just a correction
on the terminology. There was a short discussion as to whether they would withdraw or
continue. Chris Keenan, the Engineer, requested a continuation. They would enclose
the lift, similar to the Armando Ctr., and Dockray Funeral Home. This hearing is
th
continued to April 14.

Modification to prior decision – adding antennae to existing tower. Ken Adams
represented the petitioner. He explained about the AT&T upgrades in MA. They will
replace their antennae and add 3 additional antennae. This is a 180 ft. monopole. They
are currently located at 155 ft. on the pole. They would like to lower their equipment to
140 ft. on the pole. The antennae will not be “on arms”, they will be close to the pole.
They are also adding radio units (small boxes), and they will be located in a cluster below
the antennae, and add some cable in the equipment cabinet. Chairman Carroll noted that
the property owners name was not mentioned on the petition. (Mr. Robert Corkery). Mr.
Adams felt that since they lease the property, it was not necessary. Not so, per Chairman
