Chairman Carroll opened the meeting at 7:05. He read the agenda items.

Peter McClary and John Burke, along with Atty. Michael Khoury appeared before the 
Board. Chairman Carroll stated that reluctantly, this Board approved this request for a 
billboard. The MBTA was going to put up a billboard, and they have the authority to do 
that. Based on that, we approved this. It is a source of revenue for Canton. There was 
no objection at the public hearing. There was a miscommunication on the height. Peter 
stated that they have put the pole up at 69.9ft. Mr. Pando stated that with field 
conditions, pole at 70ft, sign at an additional 14ft for a total of 84ft. Modify a prior 
decision to top of sign, no more that 84ft. Chairman Carroll said there is criteria in the 
By Law, a Special Permit, not a variance for a sign. The Board must determine that it is 
not detrimental. No one objected. The Selectmen made strong representation to the 
Board. Motion to clarify a previous decision. The clarification is on the height. To the 
highest point of any signage is to be 84ft above grade at the base of the sign.
