Minutes of the meeting of July 10, 2008 PRESENT: Paul B. Carroll, Chairman Gregory L. Pando James Fitzgerald ALSO PRESENT: Velma J. Coffey, Admin. Asst./Recording Secretary Chairman Carroll opened the meeting at 7:04pm in the Salah Hearing Room, Memorial Hall. Dr. Andrew Chase/Arch Realty – 800 Washington St – 32-08 SP (Sign) (PC,JF,GP) Dr. Chace appeared before the Board for an update on his freestanding sign. He met with the CCDRB for approval of his sign request, since his office is within the CCEOD overlay district. The CCDRB suggested (as did the Board) that he move the existing freestanding sign so that it was more visible from both Washington St and Sherman St., similar to what is across the street (Kramer bldg.) The Board was amenable to this suggestion. Chairman Carroll said this was a good example, a smaller scale, geared to both Washington St. and Sherman St. The petitioner was asked to send a drawing of the new sign to the Board through Ms. Coffey. Motion made to Dr. Chase for a dual facing sign on Washington St and Sherman St, according to the resubmitted drawings for approval. Voted 3-0 to approve. Amendment made to allow lighting of the sign from dusk until 9:00PM. Voted 3-0 to approve. Robert Reiser Co. – 725 Dedham St – 15-08-Mod SPA-SP-V (PC,GP,CA) Mr. Armando and Atty. Schneiders could not make it to the meeting this evening. The public th hearing was closed in June. This will be continued to July 24. Chairman Carroll suggested that Mr. Armando speak with Paul Brodmerkle. Even with underground garage, not enough to meet required parking. Fire Chief venting is needed. Tom Houston has reviewed the plan, and he sees no reason they are not able to retrofit building to allow parking. Mr. Pando stated you can take portion of building into the garage, but it needs venting. This changes the use of the space. He encourages Mr. Armando to discuss any questions with Mr. Brodmerkle. He thanked Mr. Brodmerkle for visiting with the Shapiro’s.
