Ms. Mirliani
 – we are going to change the agenda a little bit this evening we are going
to start with the “Comprehensive Land Use Reform and Partnership Act” presentation.
Mr. Comeau
 – if I could quickly say that last Tuesday I went to the Board of Selectman
meeting where I heard the presentation from MAPC. I thought it would be good for the
Mr. Holden
Board to have some first hand knowledge of their presentation so I invited
here tonight.

Eric HoldenComprehensive Land Use Reform and Partnership Act (CLURPA)
 –
Talks about zoning reform legislation there is a bill before the legislature S1019
He says there are some formatting changes, some substantive changes and there is also a
competing plan (LUPA).

Mr. Holden
 – Thank you very much for having me, my name is Eric Holden. Tonight I
am here to talk about Legislation. He refers to two handouts which list endorsements
from organizations. He talks about the broad based nature of the endorsements, groups
from the Planning world to groups from the Health Care field and Environmental groups,
most recently I have been talking to cities and towns Planning Boards and Boards of
Selectman just talking about the legislation. There is wide spread support from many
communities across the Commonwealth. He says they have 38 communities from this
region signed on and 55 more statewide who have signed on that really want to see
something happen with zoning reform. The Bill has been a long process we have
attempted to update our states zoning, master plan, planning statutes. This legislation
CLURPA was introduced last session, it is currently a joint committee for municipalities
