Action Items/01d Business Elm Street (Standish Way) Water Construction, David Peeling, SEA David Peeling, SEA and Jim Donovan, Town Engineer gave an update on the Elm Street Water Construction
project. Mr. Peeling noted that originally the drilling was going to be initiated at the Cumberland Farms property which is vacant. The staging of all of the equipment was planned to
take place in the parking lot and not disturb anyone. After careful review of the area, the directional driller has determined that the bedrock on the opposite end of the project, Standish
Way, was too high. He advised that the drilling should begin at Standish Way. Mr. Peeling noted that the staging could be done in the cul de sac but that it would be impossible to stay
within the right of way. He noted that none of the neighbors will be blocked in. He explained that there will be noise and disturbance from 7:00 am to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Mr. Peeling continued by noting that the duration of the actual drilling would be about one week to ten days and duration of the total project would be four weeks. Mr. Peeling noted
that he and Jim Donovan had done outreach to speak with the neighbors about the inconvenience due to the large machinery in the cul de sac. They had left fliers on the doors, spoken
individually with neighbors and called a neighborhood meeting. They noted that they would be willing to work with the neighbors for any special considerations during this time. It was
also noted that the neighbors had been given the contact information of the project manager to answer any questions or concerns should they come up. Motion was made to approve the modified
process of directional drilling for the Water Construction Project at Elm Street and Standish Way. Motion: Mr. Salvatori Second: Mr. Burr Vote: 5-0
