• Areas of responsibility similar to those of a municipality were discussed such as retirement, Medicare,
health insurance premiums, workers comp, utilities and others. Maintain a central office within the high
school — Superintendent, Directors of Curriculum, Business and Finance Offices etc. Mandated to fund
district treasurer and an admissions office.
• There are 160 employees within the district.
• Employees are offered one Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO plan. Because BHRTS is obligated to offer a
BCBS product, they were unable to offer the State's GIC plan, which did not include a BCBS product.
Non- teaching retirees continue with the BCBS product while the teaching retirees go into the GIC plan (of
which an indemnity plan is available to them).
• The school is in year three of a five -year capital plan. Years one and two were for the roof project. The
school has met with MSBA and are on a short list for reimbursement. MSBA has not yet asked them for
any documentation and may be voting on the reimbursement in a month.
