Town of Canton Finance Committee Meeting Minutes Thursday, February 18, 2010 Opening: The regular meeting of the Canton FINCOM was called to order at 7:04 p.m. on February 18, 2010 in the Salah Meeting Room of Town Hall by Dave Emhardt, Finance Committee Chairman. Members Present: Dave Emhardt, John Friel, Alan Hines, Pat Johnson, Mark Porter, Jim Sims and Diane Wolff. Guests Present: Sal Salvatori, Chairman, Board of Selectmen James Murgia, Finance Director Ellen Jones, FINCOM Secretary A. Approval of Agenda There was no formal motion made to approve the agenda as presented. Announcements There were no announcements made. B. Approval of Minutes Mr. Sims requested that the last sentence in the second paragraph under Section B be deleted. A motion made by Pat Johnson to approve the February 4, 2010 meeting minutes as amended was seconded by Jim Sims. Vote: 6-0-1. A motion made by Pat Johnson to approve the March 23, 2009 meeting minutes as written was seconded by Jim Sims. Vote: 5-0-2. A motion made by Pat Johnson to approve the March 16, 2009 meeting minutes as written was seconded by Jim Sims. Vote: 5-0-2. C. Old Business/Open Issues None. D. New Business Article 5 Collective Bargaining Agreements Under the BOS - Mr. Salvatori informed the FINCOM that the Firefighters contract for FY 10 and FY 1 1 had not been formally concluded but is on the BOS agenda for an executive session on February 23. Dave Emhardt to place on agenda for FINCOM meeting on February 24, 2010. Article 6 Funding of Cost Items Not In Deaartmental Budgets - FINCOM did not have information for this article. This article will be placed on the agenda for February 24, 2010. Article 12 Authorize Certain Revolving Funds -This article was postponed for discussion later in the evening. Article 14 Amend Zoning By-Law Sec. 2.17 Parkland. Recreation & Open - Mr. Salvatori stated that Article 14 was on the BOS agenda for February 23, but that the BOS had not yet received information from the proponent.
