Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, February 16, 2010
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Canton FINCOM was called to order at 7:04 p.m. on February 16, 2010 in the Salah
Meeting Room of Town Hall by Dave Emhardt, Finance Committee Chairman.
Members Present:
Dave Emhardt, John Friel, Alan Hines, Pat Johnson, Mark Porter and Jim Sims.
Guests Present:
James Murgia, Finance Director
Ellen Jones, FINCOM Secretary
A. Approval of Agenda
There was no formal motion made to approve the agenda as presented.
Announcements
There were no announcements made.
B. Approval of Minutes
Jim Sims requested that the minutes for the 2/4/10 meeting be postponed until a later date, as more time may be
needed by FINCOM members to review these minutes.
A motion made by Pat Johnson to approve the March 9, 2009 meeting minutes was withdrawn, as these minutes had
not been submitted for review at this meeting.
A motion made by Pat Johnson to approve the March 25, 2009 meeting minutes as written was seconded by
Jim Sims. Vote: 4-0-2.
C. Old Business/Open Issues
None.
D. New Busiuess
Article 1 Elect aModerator - A motion made by Pat Johnson that the Town elect a Moderator to preside at
this Town Meeting and to serve until a successor Moderator is elected at the commencement of Annual Town
Meeting in 2011 was seconded by John Friel. Vote: 6-0-0.
Article 2 Adopt Rules to Govern Town Meeting, Motion #1 - A motion made by Pat Johnson that this 2010
Annual Town Meeting meet on consecutive Monday and Wednesday evenings (but not including Monday,
May 31s`) in the Morse Auditorium, on the grounds of the Canton High School until the business of this
Annual Town Meeting has been concluded, each such session to begin at 7:30 o'clock P.M. and to adjourn at
11:00 o'clock P. M., or as near that hour as may be feasible, according to the nature of the business pending at
the said hour was seconded by John Friel.
