Board of Selectmen Meeting

Present: John J. Connolly, Chairman, Avril T. Elkort, Vice-Chairman, Gerald A.
Salvatori, Jr., Clerk, Victor D. Del Vecchio, Member, Robert E. Burr, Member, William
T. Friel, Town Administrator, Jennifer Andrews, Administrative Secretary
Meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m.
Introduction of new Firefighters -Chief Ronayne
Chief Ronayne announced that there were six new firefighters on the Canton Fire
Department. He noted that they had attended a twelve week intensive program where
they were trained in EMS and Hazmat response.
The Chief noted that all of these positions were existing. Since the passage of the
override, he was able to hire back three firefighters. The other positions were vacant due
to transfers and retirements. He noted that this was the first time since he became Chief
that the department was at full staffing.
He introduced the firefighters who were present as Firefighter Buckley, Firefighter Chris
Whitley, Firefighter Dan Whitley, Firefighter Jason Coleman, and Firefighter Bob
Collins.
Transfer of a Wine and Malt Package Store License front Gerald D. Gouldston d/b/a
Springdales's, 489 Bolivar Street to Springdales, Inc., d/b/a Springdales, same
location
Mr. Salvatori made a motion to open the hearing for the Transfer of a Wine and Malt
Package Store License from Gerald D. Gouldston d/b/a Springdales's, 489 Bolivar Street
to Springdales, Inc., d/b/a Springdales, same location and noted that the hearing had
been advertised in the Canton Citizen.
Motion: Mr. Salvatori Second: Mrs. Elkort Vote: 5-0
Dick Staiti was present to represent Mr. Gerald Gouldston in the matter of the transfer.
He noted to the Board that the transfer was made within the company. The license would
be transferred from Mr. Gouldston personally to the corporation.
Motion was made to transfer the Wine and Malt Package Store License from Gerald D.
Gouldston d/b/a Springdales's, 489 Bolivar Street to Springdales, Inc., d/b/a
Springdales, same location.
Motion: Mr. Salvatori Second: Mrs. Elkort Vote: 5-0
