1. Principles. The site plan of mixed-use developments permitted under this section should adhere to the following principles: a. Promote a walkable and vibrant public realm along a public way or public open space. b. Emphasize the connection between public ways and open spaces and the uses of the building. c. Promote the active use of any space between the ground floor frontage and public right-of-way. d. Minimize the visual and physical impact of parking facilities, primarily from the street in front of the site and secondarily from the side and rear, through building placement and context-appropriate landscaping treatments.
