Section 3. Appointment to Town Office 1-3 No appointing authority shall appoint any person to serve as a member of a multiple member body unless such person, at the time of appointment, is a resident of the town. Any person serving as a member of any multiple member body of the town who during the term of office for which appointed removes from the town shall, forthwith, be deemed to have vacated such office. This provision shall not be construed to prevent a non-resident town officer, or town employee, from serving as a member of a multiple member body representing the office or employment held. 1-3 Inserted under article 19, ATM May 6, 1996. 3
